About

The River City Bowlers league was organized in the 1977-78 season by Victor Langdon and the group bowled at the now defunct Alhambra Bowl in downtown Sacramento.  While the first season consisted of less than 20 teams, Victor was able to increase participation in the 2nd season to 44 teams...hence the move to AMF Land Park Bowl where the league still plays a full winter schedule followed by a shortened summer season.

During the years that followed, the league has attracted bowlers of all skill levels including several players who have managed to roll perfect 300 games and 800 series.  River City Bowlers has also been an ardent supporter of the Gay Games event and has produced multiple medal winners since 1982.  The group has also been a friendly venue for all to come and enjoy the game of bowling while creating a social outlet for the LGBT community.
